My life goal was to become a great musician. These two goals are very different. However, they also have similarities. I can’t wait to tell you guys about my goals.

One similarity is that I can’t achieve these goals without the help of my parents. They are always there to support me. Also, I would have to work very hard to achieve both of these goals. I can’t just expect for me to complete those goals without working for them. And these are only some of the similarities.

These are the differences between my goals. I have to spend a lot of time outside to play basketball. However, I have to stay inside to focus on my guitar playing. Also, I have to to a lot of physical work to become a better basketball player. But I don’t have to do that much physical work for guitar playing.

So these are the basics of my goals. I’m going to work very hard to achieve them. Although, i might have to choose one or the other. I could really use everyone’s help on deciding which one to choose. So do you think I should choose music, or should I join sports?

My life has really changed over the years. However, I don’t think that it has changed this much. I think that i’ve come to go through a lot of changes over the years. However, I kept some similarities. Some differences I’ve come to like, but I don’t like some. I also feel the same way about my similarities.

One similarity I kept over the years, is that I still love to play basketball. In the same fashion, I still run track for my school. Also, I still love to do math. It is my favorite subject still. Those are some of the similarities i can think of so far.

I also came along some differences over my years at Untalan. One difference is that I now am considered to be the best student guitarist at Untalan. Also, I used to have all 100% grades on my report card. However, now I only average straight A’s. Also, I used to be shy around girls; however, this year, I went out with Crystal Agoun, who i really miss being with.

So those are some of the differences i mentioned. Dont worry people, there are more to come. My favorite similarity is that I’m still a jock. My favorite difference is that I went out with Crystal. So that’s the basics of my 6th through 8th grade life.

For my comparison and contrast essay, I decided to compare and contrast Taylor and Koleena. Taylor and Koleena are both very good friends of mine. So far, I have only found fie similarities and five differences between them. Although, I believe there are more to come. I decided to do this essay about them because to me, they are very interesting. The first obvious similarity i noticed about them, is that they are both girls. Similarly, they both like to wear converse shoes. Also, they both wear glasses because they are near-sighted. In the same fashion, they are also both shorter that me. I also think that they’re both very pretty. Do you think that they’re pretty?dscn0527.JPG dscn0531.JPG dscn0526.JPGTaylor and Koleena also have differences as well. Taylor likes to play sports; however, Koleena doesn’t like to play sports. Koleena is in the 8th grade, but Taylor is in the 7th grade. Another difference is that Taylor is shorter than Koleena. Taylor’s favorite color is red, on the other hand, Koleena’s favorite color is blue. The 5th differences i found is that Talyor’s favorite food is noodle soup, but Koleena’s favorite food is chocolate-chip cookies. So basically, I found five differences and five similarities. My favorite similarity is that they are both pretty. My least favorite one is that they are both shorter than me. I don’t really have a favorite or least favorite difference about them. So, this is what I compared and contrasted them about. I hope you all like it!

I think that all of my classmates gave excellent presentations. I liked the way Christian made us question why we loved cookies so much. Vanalyn gave a picture of each sushi she did research on. Jadylee kept her facts consistent so that we wouldn’t get lost. That is what i loved about her presentations.

The research for my project was based on Steve Nash. I searched his biography on www.google.com, where i decided to use only three websites. My first choice was www.wikipedia.com, where i found much information. The second one was his player profile at www.nba.com. My final choice was www.jockbio.com. Out of the hundreds of websites, I only chose those three.

Some of the interesting information I discovered while researching my project at www.wikipedia.com, was that Steve Nash did not even go to college in the United States, to me, that really caught my attention. Other interesting information I found was that Steve Nash was booed at one point in playing for Phoenix his rookie year. At www.nba.com, I found facts saying that Steve Nash only played for the Suns for three years, was traded to Dallas, and then back to Phoenix. I found it amazing to see Nash traded from one team to another, then right back to where he started. Those were some interesting facts I found.

I hardly had any difficulties finding my information. It was quite easy once I had searched Steve Nash’s biography at www.google.com. There were many listed websites on google, which was probably the only difficulty i had. I had decided to use only three websites for my sources. My three choices were www.wikipedia.com, www.nba.com, and www.jockbio.com, as listed above in the first paragraph.

Hello, my name is J.T. , and I am going to tell you about my trip to Recycle City. On my way to Recycle City, I knew that there was glass recycling. Some of my classmates knew that recycling helps the environment. One of my classmates knew that ouur school recycles aluminum cans. Another one knew that Andersen Air Force Base on Guam has a recycling plant. My other classmate knew that recycled things can be made into other objects such as tissue.

What i wanted to learn when i went to Recycle City was how many people recycle. My classmate wanted to learn was how the recycling process works. My other classmate wants to learn if reecycling prevents global warming. Another classmate of mine wanted to learn all of the things that can be recycled. Also, another classmates wanted to learn if guam will be getting any more recycling plants.

What learned when i went to Recycle City, was that the church holds many regular used clothing and toy drives. I also learned that they retreat and recycle old car parts so that they will not me thrown away. They also drive slowly and smoothly to prevent tires from wearing out, prevent large useage of gas, and to lower the amount of carbon dioxide produced from cars. Also, they take the old tires that cannot be retreated, and turn them into tire swings for children. They also dispose of garden and garage supplies properly to protect the environment from the harmful chemicals found in them.

The most interesting aspects for it were the silly sentences, quizzler, giraffe, and Supertext Twist. The handheld has many fun games. My favorite one to play was the Supertext Twist game.

I think that the quizzler can be a great way to test yourself. I think that Supertext Twist is a good way to practice graffiti and learn new words. Giraffe is a fun competitive game that i like to play with friends. It challenges us to see who can write in graffiti the longest. Using the handheld is a much more interesting way for me to learn.

Jordan Tingson

Cyber-bullying Research Guide.

I think that cyber bullying is another method of verbal bullying, only that it is through the internet. I think that it is a way where students tease each other and threaten each other. Cyber bullying is just as bad, or maybe even worse than regular bullying. Just because it’s different methods, doesn’t mean that people are effected differently.Once, my school was threatened by cyberbullying. As I have heard, someone threatened a student at my school via myspace. I am not entirely sure what happened, but that is what I know.

I have read an article from www.msnbc.com, saying that cyber-bullying is bullying via online communication, such as texting, myspace, or instant messages. Cyber-bullying is as bad as regular bullying, but sometimes can be worse.Through personal experiences, and by reading L.A. Times, I have learned that people hack their friends’ myspace or unse someone else’s identity, pretending to be someone else. Sometimes, they bully other people using their friends myspace, teasing them, and saying bad things about them, while using their friends identity. Another form of cyber-bullying is internet predators, where they threaten people if they do not commit sexual acts.

According to the L.A. Times newspaper, and www.msnbc.com, the effects of cyber-bullying is the same as bullying. From cyber-bullying, people feel sorrow and pain, causing emotional problems and can lead to suicide. Even though teasing people is one way of cyber-bullying, even by saying that you are not there friend can effect those who have no one else, such as Megan Meier, who according to L.A. Times, commited suicide because she was cyber-bullied.

According to an article I have read, which my teacher found at www.msnbc.com, it is difficult to prevent cyber-bullying due to the certain rights given to all people by the Bill of Rights; however, parents may view their childs instant messages and myspace or blogs, to see i they are being bullied or to see who they are talking to. Children can also stop using blogs, or talking with people they do not know through myspace or instant messenger. My friends have told me that they meet new friends from myspace, which is dangerous because their newfriend could be a cyber-bully.

One of the most interesting things I learned from cyber-bullying, is that it is not much different from regular bullying. People are still threatened and teased by cyber-bullying. The only way to stop them is to stop using myspace. The most common way people are cyber-bullied is by instant messenger. Cyber-bullies could be anyone, young, old, big, small, or even middle age.
